Terry Tin Sing Tang has been in the financial industry since 1995. He worked for LPL Financial from 1999 to 2010 until he was terminated for violating procedures relative to opening new accounts.
On July 5, 2011 Tang signed a Letter of Acceptance, Waiver and Consent with FINRA. According to the AWC, Tang failed to notify his ember firm that a variable annuity order was placed by a third party. Tang also failed to obtain approval from his firm and never met or spoke directly with the customers. Instead all of his communications with the customers were through a third party. Specifically, on April 22, 2008, Tang caused a 532,000 variable annuity to be purchased in the customer’s account, for which Tang received a 28,000 commission. The third party was never granted authority by the firm to place any orders in the customer’s account.
After being terminated from LPL, Tang worked for Newport Coast Securities until 2013. He has worked for Financial West Group since then and is still employed there.
