Seaport Global Securities broker Bharminder Singh: Complaints

In August 2015 Bharminder Singh was named the respondent in a FINRA complaint alleging he either intentionally or recklessly employed a “scheme to defraud” his customers. According to FINRA’s complaint, Mr. Singh purchased retail-sized lots of Motors Liquidation Company from retail customers of his member firm, Merrill Lynch, at unfair prices, and then sold them “for substantially more than he had paid.” FINRA additionally alleges that Bharminder Singh “engaged in acts, a practice, and course of business which operated as a fraud or deceit” upon his customers. The complaint remains pending.

Mr. Singh is a broker registered with forty-four US states and territories.

According to his Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) BrokerCheck report, Bharminder Singh has been named in two pending FINRA complaints, and was discharged from Merrill Lynch.

In 2014 FINRA launched an investigation into allegations that Bharminder Singh was responsible for “excessive markdowns” related to fixed income trading activity from 2009 to 2011. The investigation remains pending.

In 2014 Bharminder Singh was terminated from his position at Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith following allegations he failed to meet performance standards, “resulting in loss of management’s confidence.”
