In 2013 the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) sanctioned Matrix Capital Group following allegations the firm failed to exercise reasonable supervision over a representative who was selling the same variable annuity exchange to a divergent group of customers. Matrix Capital Group was censured and issued a fine of $30,000.

In 2011 FINRA sanctioned Matrix Capital Group following allegations the firm failed to report order events as required. Matrix Capital Group was censured and issued a fine of $10,000.
