Broker Complaints: Four Points Capital (CRD# 43149)

Formed in Texas in 1997, Four Points Capital is headquartered in New York, New York and registered in 53 US states and territories. Michael Steven Avnett is Chief Compliance Officer; John Clarke Gray is Chief Financial Operations Officer; Michael Christopher Martino is Chief Executive Officer; Gene Ryan Murphy is Chief Operating Officer.

In 2001 Michael Martino was sanctioned by the Utah Division of Securities following allegations he failed to respond to a request for information by the Division. Mr. Martino’s registration in the state was revoked.

In 2000 Michael Martino submitted his “voluntary resignation” from SG Martin Securities following allegations he “took a customer book that belonged to a broker” and “was acting in concert with other representatives to systematically divert the firm’s customers away from the firm.”

In 1997 a customer alleged Michael Martino, while employed by another firm, breached his fiduciary duty, failed to supervise, acted negligently, and misrepresented material facts related to an investment. The complaint settled in 1998 for $30,000.
