In 2004 a customer alleged John Forsythe, while employed at CIBC World Markets, executed unauthorized trades and negligently provided advice that resulted in poor performance. The customer sought $205,148 in damages in the complaint, which was denied.

In 2002 a customer alleged John Forsythe, while employed at CIBC World Markets, recommended unsuitable investments and permitted her husband to execute trades despite the fact that he was not a signatory on the accounts in question. The complaint settled in 2004 for $27,256.

In 1991 a customer alleged John Forsythe breached his fiduciary duty, churned the customer’s account, and recommended an unsuitable investment. The complaint resulted in an award to the customer of $150,000.
