Glenn McDowell Named in FINRA Investigation

shutterstock_175161821According to records provided by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), former New York-based Woodstock broker Glenn McDowell has been named in a FINRA investigation into allegations of misconduct. The securities and investment fraud law firm Fitapelli Kurta is interested in hearing from investors who have complaints regarding Mr. McDowell, also known as Clemend St. Aubyn McDowell (CRD# 2748337).

Glenn McDowell has spent 17 years in the securities industry and was most recently registered with Woodstock Financial Group in New York, New York (2013-2015). Previous registrations include Olson, Cross & Alamo in New York, New York (2013); National Securities in New York, New York (2001-2013); Valley Forge Securities in Rosemont, Pennsylvania (2001); Kirlin Securities in Syosset, New York (2000-2001); and J.W. Barclay & Company in Woodbridge, New Jersey (1998-2000). He is currently not registered with any state or firm.

According to his BrokerCheck report, Glenn McDowell is the subject of one FINRA investigation, one regulatory sanction, and three customer complaints that were closed or denied. He was additionally discharged from his position at National Securities.

In December 2015 FINRA made a preliminary determination, issued in Wells Notice Examination #20130359027, “to recommend that disciplinary action be brought against Glenn McDowell alleging potential violations of FINRA Rule 2010, for engaging in unauthorized trading.” The investigation remains pending.

In 2015 a customer alleged Glenn Mcdowell, while employed at National Securities, misrepresented material facts related to an investment in over-the-counter products. The customer sought $140,135 in damages in the complaint, which was denied.

In 2014 a customer alleged Glenn Mcdowell, while employed at National Securities, executed unauthorized trades in over-the-counter products. The customer sought unspecified damages in the complaint, which was closed.

In 2013 Glenn Mcdowell was terminated from his position at National Securities following allegations he executed unauthorized trades and exhibited poor performance.

In 2013 the State of Florida sanctioned Glenn McDowell following allegations he made a misleading statement on an application for registration while employed at Olson, Cross & Alamo. Mr. McDowell’s registration in Florida was consequently denied.
