Stifel Nicolaus broker/adviser Joel Davidman: Complaints

According to his BrokerCheck report, Joel Davidman is the subject of two customer complaints and has been discharged from Morgan Stanley.

In 2015 Joel Davidman was discharged from his position at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney following allegations he made discretionary trades in client accounts without written authorization. The trades in question involved real estate investment trusts (REITs),  asset-backed debt, corporate debt, government debt, and municipal debt securities.

In 2008 a customer alleged Joel Davidman, while employed at Morgan Stanley, unsuitably used margin in the customer’s account. The complaint settled in 2009 for $225,000.

In 1999 a customer alleged Joel Davidman, while employed at Dean Witter Reynolds, made unauthorized and risky transactions. The customer sought $14,000 in damages in the complaint, which was denied.
