James Riva Has FINRA Sanction and Numerous Liens

James RivaPublicly available records provided by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) on May 30, 2016 indicate that former Tennessee-based Raymond James & Associates broker James Riva has been sanctioned by FINRA. James Riva has spent 27 years in the securities industry and was most recently registered with Raymond James & Associates in Memphis, Tennessee (2013-2014). Previous registrations include Morgan Keegan & Company in Memphis, Tennessee; Tower Square Securities in El Segundo, California; MetLife Securities in New York, New York; Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in New York, New York; AXA Advisors in New York, New York; and the Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States in New York, New York. In May 2016, FINRA sanctioned James Riva following allegations he “willfully failed to timely amend his Form U4 to report civil judgments and state tax liens and also willfully failed to amend his Form U4 to report another civil judgment and tax lien.” He was issued a 6-month suspension and a fine of $5,000.
