In April 2016, FINRA sanctioned Adam Kuettel following allegations he engaged in private securities transactions, while associated with two member firms, without providing prior written notice to or receiving approval from those firms. According to FINRA’s complaint, Mr. Kuettel “assisted investors, some of whom were the firm’s customers, with the purchase of shares of stock and warrants in a public company through a private investment in a public equity (PIPE) transaction.” He also allegedly “specifically requested that the individuals involved with the PIPE transaction communicate with him away from the firm, thus concealing his involvement from the firm.” Mr. Kuettel was issued a nine-month suspension and a fine of $10,000.
