Sperry Younger Has Pending FINRA Complaint

Sperry YoungerPublicly available records provided by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) on June 29, 2016 indicate that New York-based NMS broker Sperry Younger is the subject of a pending regulatory complaint. Sperry Younger has spent 17 years in the securities industry and has been registered with NMS Capital Advisors in New York, New York since October 2015. Previous registrations include Avenir Financial Group in New York, New York (2015); J. Streicher Capital in New York, New York (2014-2015); Rothschild Lieberman in New York, New York (2014-2015); NMS Capital Securities in New York, New York (2012-2014); John Carris Investments in Hoboken, New Jersey (2010-2012); Charles Morgan Securities in New York, New York (2003-2006); D. Of Mr. Younger’s former employers, four have since been expelled by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA): John Carris Investments, Hornblower & Weeks, Dupont Securities, and Royal Hutton Securities. He is a registered broker in California, Connecticut, Indiana, and New York.

According to his BrokerCheck report, Sperry Younger has received two customer complaints, one pending customer complaint, and one pending FINRA complaint.

In April 2016, a customer alleged Sperry Younger, while employed at J. Streicher Capital, “failed to undertake or perform advisory and capital raising services.” The customer is seeking $54,466 in damages in the pending complaint.

In March 2016, Sperry Younger was named respondent in a FINRA complaint alleging he “made misrepresentations to FINRA by providing false testimony regarding backdated memoranda” and “also failed to establish and maintain a reasonable supervisory system at his member firm, including written procedures, and failed to reasonably supervise individuals at the firm.” The complaint remains pending.

In May 2015, a customer alleged Sperry Younger, while employed at J. Streicher Capital, “failed to undertake or perform advisory and capital raising services.” The complaint settled for more than $10,000.

In April 2015, a customer alleged Sperry Younger, while employed at J. Streicher Capital, “failed to undertake or perform advisory and capital raising services.” The complaint settled for 6,000.
