Bruce Pivar (LPL Financial) Received NASD Sanction

Bruce PivarPublic records provided by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) on July 6, 2016 indicate that Florida-based LPL Financial broker/adviser Bruce Pivar has been barred by FINRA from engaging in certain activities. Bruce Pivar has spent 32 years in the securities industry and has been registered with LPL Financial in Naples, Florida since 2009. Previous registrations include Waterstone Financial Group in Naples, Florida; Securities America in La Vista, Nevada; Royal Alliance Associates in New York, New York; MB Vick & Company in Chicago, Illinois; Royal Alliance Associates in New York, New York; Integrated Resources Equity Corporation; and Southmark Financial Services. He is a registered broker and investment adviser with fifteen US states and territories: Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.

According to his BrokerCheck report, Bruce Pivar has received two customer complaints and one regulatory sanction.

In 2003, the National Association of Securities Dealers sanctioned Bruce Pivar following allegations placed trades, including the sale of uncovered options, on behalf of a representative under his supervision, who was restricted from effecting uncovered options transactions. He was issued a ten-day suspension and a permanent bar from associating with any NASD member firm in a principal or supervisory capacity.

In 2013, a customer alleged Bruce Pivar, while employed at LPL Financial and Waterstone Financial Group, misrepresented and recommended unsuitable investments. The complaint, in which Mr. Pivar was not named, settled in 2014 for $20,000.

In 2010, a customer alleged Bruce Pivar, while employed at Waterstone Financial Group, recommended unsuitable mutual fund investments. The complaint settled for $29,500.
