Wilson Williams Has Two Regulatory Sanctions

Wilson WilliamsPublicly available records provided by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) on July 15, 2016 indicate that Texas-based WFG Investments broker Wilson Williams has been named in a pending customer complaints. The securities and investment fraud law firm Fitapelli Kurta is interested in speaking to investors who have complaints regarding Mr. Williams (CRD# 834161).

Wilson Williams has spent 29 years in the securities industry and has been registered with WFG Investments in Dallas, Texas since 1988. Previous registrations include the Lincoln National Life Insurance Company in Fort Wayne, Indiana (1991-1994); Shearson Lehman Hutton (1988); and EF Hutton & company (1977-1988). He is a registered broker and investment adviser with 33 US states and territories.

According to his BrokerCheck report, Wilson Williams has received one customer complaint, one pending customer complaint, and two regulatory sanctions.

In April 2016, a customer alleged Wilson Williams, while employed at WFG Investments, failed to conduct a “reasonable investigation into Servergy,” misrepresented material facts, recommended unsuitable investments, and breached his fiduciary duty. The customer is seeking $2,800,000 in damages in the pending complaint.

In 2008, the National Association of Securities Dealers sanctioned Wilson Williams following allegations that his member firm, WFG Investments, acting through him, approved the publication of a research report that did contain risk disclosures. He was censured and issued a fine of $25,000.

In 2003, the National Association of Securities Dealers sanctioned Wilson Williams following allegations he failed to adequately review sales literature and allowed a registered representative to distribute research reports that contained inadequate risk disclosures. He was censured and issued a fine of $10,000.

In 2002, a customer alleged Wilson Williams, while employed at WFG Investments, was intentionally, recklessly, or grossly negligent in the hiring of a registered representative. The complaint settled in 2004 for $254,935.
