Jerald Halverson Resigned from UBS After Investigation

Jerald HalversonPublic records published by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) on August 29, 2016 indicate that Oregon-based First Republic Securities Company broker/adviser Jerald Halverson, also known as Jay Halverson, is the subject of a pending customer complaint. The securities and investment fraud law firm Fitapelli Kurta is interested in speaking to investors who have complaints regarding Mr. Halverson (CRD# 2395133).

Jerald Halverson has spent eight years in the securities industry and has been registered with First Republic Securities Company in Portland, Oregon since May 2016. Previous registrations include UBS Financial Services in Portland, Oregon; NFP Securities in Scottsdale, Arizona; New England Securities in Phoenix, Arizona; and Sentra Securities Corporation in Phoenix, Arizona. He is a registered broker and investment adviser with six US states and territories: California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Texas and Washington.

According to his BrokerCheck report, Jerald Halverson has received one pending customer complaint and resigned from UBS Financial Services.

In July 2016, a customer alleged Jerald Halverson, while employed at UBS Financial Services, recommended an unsuitable life insurance policy and failed to properly disclose the surrender charge and other associated fees. The customer is seeking $305,000 in damages in the pending complaint.

In April 2016, Jerald Halverson voluntarily resigned from his position at UBS Financial Services “while under review for allegations” that he entered “into an unapproved financial planning services agreement with a client,” failed “to report to the Firm that the same client gave him a gift having a value of more than $100,” and referred that client to “outside banks for lending products.”

In 2008, Jerald Halverson filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Arizona. The filing has since been discharged.
