Public records published by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) on September 7, 2016 indicate that former Texas-based Raymond James Financial Services broker James Mahan has been permanently barred from acting as a broker or otherwise associating with firms that sell securities to the public. The securities and investment fraud law firm Fitapelli Kurta is interested in hearing from investors who have complaints regarding Mr. Mahan (CRD# 5787176).

In July 2016, FINRA sanctioned James Mahan following allegations he “refused to appear for on-the-record testimony requested by FINRA after his member firm filed an amended Form U5 reporting that he was under internal review for recommending an unapproved outside investment to a client of the firm.” He was permanently barred from acting as a broker or otherwise associating with firms that sell securities to the public.
In September 2015, a customer alleged James Mahan, while employed at JP Morgan Securities, solicited an unapproved investment. The customer sought $101,000 in damages in the complaint, which was denied.
