In September 2015 a customer alleged Jeffrey Dixson, while employed at Madison Avenue Securities, made a poor recommendation and provided poor advice with respect to variable annuity contracts held by Met Life Securities. The complaint settled in April 2016 for $140,000.

In 2007 the State of Washington Office of the Securities Commissioner sanctioned Jeffrey Dixson following allegations he sold unapproved variable annuities to Washington residents and falsely represented that annuity applications were signed in Oregon. He was issued a fine of $6,000.
