Stuart Godin Has Received Six Customer Complaints

Stuart GodinPublicly available records provided by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) on October 22, 2016 indicate that California-based Financial West Group broker/adviser Stuart Godin has been the subject of customer complaints. The securities and investment fraud law firm Fitapelli Kurta is investigating allegations of misconduct against Mr. Godin (CRD# 223476).

Stuart Godin has spent 55 years in the securities industry and has been registered with Financial West Group in Los Angeles, California since March 2016. Previous registrations include RBC Capital Markets in Century City, California; Citigroup Global Markets in Los Angeles, California; Morgan Stanley DW in Purchase, New York; Bear Stearns & Company in New York, New York; Oppenheimer & Company; and Merrill Lynch. He is a registered broker and investment adviser with nine US states and territories: Arizona, California, Florida, Louisiana, Nevada, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming.

According to his BrokerCheck report, Stuart Godin has received six customer complaints.

In July 2016 a customer alleged Stuart Godin, while employed at RBC Capital Markets, told him he could lose no more than 20% of his investment in a managed futures program, though he ultimately lost “nearly all of his investment.” The complaint settled $15,000.

In 1999 a customer alleged Stuart Godin, while employed at Morgan Stanley DW, violated law and industry rules. The complaint settled for $9,999.

In 1989 a customer alleged Stuart Godin, while employed at Oppenheimer & Company, made unsuitable recommendations. The complaint resulted in an award to the customer of $126,000.

In 1988 a customer alleged Stuart Godin, while employed at Oppenheimer & Company, recommended investments that suffered losses. The complaint settled for $50,000.

In 1988 a customer alleged he, while employed at Oppenheimer & Company, misrepresented investments. The complaint resulted in an award to the customer of $46,505.

In 1985 a customer alleged he, while employed at Oppenheimer & Company, used a document in the opening of his account that did not contain an authentic signature. The complaint settled for $32,500.
