David Major: Sanctioned by FINRA

David MajorPublic records published by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) on December 7, 2016 indicate that former New York-based GFI Securities broker David Major has been permanently barred from acting as a broker or otherwise associating with firms that sell securities to the public. David Major has spent twenty years in the securities industry and was most recently registered with GFI Securities in New York, New York (2003-2016). Previous registrations include Inter-Dealer Brokers in New York, New York; GFI Securities in New York, New York; Cantor Fitzgerald & Company in New York, New York; Cantor Fitzgerald Partners in New York, New York; and Cantor Fitzgerald Securities in New York, New York. He is currently not registered with any state or firm.

According to his BrokerCheck report, David Major has been sanctioned by FINRA and recently resigned from GFI Securities.

In November 2016 FINRA sanctioned David Major following allegations he “failed to respond to FINRA’s requests for information during the course of an investigation into his having allegedly deviated from the fees that his member firm generally charged for electronically matched transactions.” He was permanently barred from acting as a broker or otherwise associating with firms that sell securities to the public.

In April 2016 David Major voluntarily resigned from GFI Securities in connection to the following allegations: “The firm identified trades where Major deviated from the fees generally charged for electronically matched transactions. Although Major initially cooperated with the review, Major refused to attend a follow-up meeting to answer additional questions.”
