Abed Darwish Has Been Suspended From Acting as a Broker

Abed DarwishPublicly available records published by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) on July 5, 2017 indicate that former Ohio-based Key Investment Services broker/adviser Abed Darwish has been sanctioned by FINRA and suspended from acting as a broker. Abed Darwish has spent eight years in the securities industry and was most recently registered with Key Investment Services in North Royalton, Ohio (2010-2015). He was previously registered with AXA Advisors in North Ridgeville, Ohio (2007-2010). He has passed three securities industry examinations: Series 66 (Uniform Combined State Law Examination); Series 7 (General Securities Representative Examination); and Series 24 (General Securities Principal Examination). He is currently not registered with any state or firm.

According to his BrokerCheck report, he has received one customer complaint and one FINRA sanction.

In June 2017 FINRA sanctioned Abed Darwish following allegations he “used the personal identification information of two customers of a bank affiliated with his member firm, without their knowledge and consent, to establish online access to a brokerage account held by the customers at another FINRA-regulated broker-dealer so that he could prepare alternate investment recommendations and convince the customers to transfer their account to the firm.” He was issued an 18-month suspension and a fine of $7,500.

In 2016 a customer alleged Abed Darwish, while employed at Key Investment Services, recommended an unsuitable purchased of an AXA Equitable variable annuity. The complaint settled for more than $6,500.
