Current Geneos Wealth Management broker, Susan M. Huffman (CRD No. 1108947) has received six customer complaints during her time at Geneos Wealth Management, two of which are currently pending arbitration before FINRA. One pending complaint against Susan M. Huffman alleges that she made unsuitable investment recommendations between 2001 and 2013. That customer is seeking $350,000. The second pending investor complaint against Susan M. Huffman states similar allegations of unsuitability, this time related to variable annuity transactions. That customer is seeking $300,000. All other customer complaints have been settled before arbitration, for a total of over $500,000 in favor of the investors.
On March 21, 2007 Geneos Wealth Management was fined $15,000 for violating Section 17(F)(2) of the Securities and Exchange Act. According to their BrokerCheck Report, Geneos Wealth Management employed an associated person without obtaining their fingerprints or submitting those fingerprints for identification, as required by federal law.
On November 1, 2006 Geneos Wealth Management was fined $12,500 for receiving check totaling 75,330.12 representing plan contributions by public customers towards their 403(B) retirement plans and failing to establish a special reserve account for said funds, in violation of SEC Rule 15C3-3.
On February 25, 2011 current Geneos Wealth Management broker, Harve Preston Meslin (CRD No. 2335904) paid over $400,000 in a settlement against a customer who had alleged an unsuitable private placement investment in real estate. Harve Preston Meslin had also received another complaint from an investor in 2003 alleging misrepresentation. Harve Preston Meslin has worked for Geneos Wealth Management since 2003. Before that Harve Preston Meslin worked for The Advisors Group.
On July 20, 2009 current Geneos Wealth Management broker, Robert J. Bachman (CRD No. 715193) paid $450,000 in settlement to a customer who alleged failure to supervise regarding a broker under Robert J. Bachman’s supervision that had been indicted in Colorado for securities fraud. Robert J. Bachman has been employed by Geneos Wealth Management since 2006 and he is currently still registered as a broker with them.
On November 23, 2004 a FINRA arbitration panel awarded an investor $133,000 in an arbitration against current Geneos Wealth Mangement broker, Dorothy M. Mechtenberh. According to Dorothy M. Mechtenberg’s FINRA BrokerCheck Report, the investor had alleged Dorothy M. Mechtenberg made unsuitable recommendations and failed to properly monitor her variable annuity accounts. Dorothy M. Mechtenberg has been employed by Geneos Wealth management since 2003 and she is currently registered as a broker there.
