In 2008 a customer alleged he, while employed at Citigroup Global Markets, misrepresented material facts related to auction rate securities. The complaint settled for $99,000.

In 1999 a customer alleged he, while employed at Salomon Smith Barney, acted negligently, breached his fiduciary duty, and breached contract. The complaint settled for $190,000.
