Questar Terminates Derek Sunderland Over Alleged Record Alterations

Derek SunderlandPublicly available records published by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and accessed on August 16, 2018 indicate that former North Dakota-based Questar Capital Corporation broker Derek Sunderland was recently discharged from his former employer in connection to alleged rule violations and is currently not affiliated with any broker-dealer firm. He is currently not registered with any state or firm.

According to his BrokerCheck report, he was discharged from his former employer in connection to alleged rule violations.

In August 2018 he was terminated from his position at Questar Capital Corporation following allegations that in response to a firm request for original logs and blotters as part of a FINRA investigation, he failed to produce such, and in a later interview “acknowledged multiple alterations on logs and blotters he approved as supervisor” in violation of firm policy and additionally admitted that he made one such alteration in his own handwriting on a blotter which he had approved, also in violation of firm policy.
