Eric Kuchel: Sanctioned By FINRA

Eric KuchelPublicly available records published by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) on February 24, 2017 indicate that former California-based LPL Financial broker Eric Kuchel has been permanently barred from acting as a broker or otherwise associating with firms that sell securities to the public. He has passed four securities industry examinations: Series 65 (Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination); Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination); Series 7 (General Securities Representative Examination); and Series 24 (General Securities Principal Examination). He is currently not registered with any state or firm.

According to his BrokerCheck report, he has received three customer complaints, two pending customer complaints, and one FINRA sanction.

In 2016 a customer alleged Eric Kuchel, while employed at LPL Financial, executed an unauthorized annuity investment. The complaint settled in January 2017 for more than $18,200.

In 2016 a customer alleged Eric Kuchel, while employed at LPL Financial, failed to follow instructions. The customer is seeking unspecified damages in the pending complaint.

In June 2016 he was sanctioned by FINRA following allegations that “on numerous occasions, he failed to appear at FINRA requested on-the-record testimony in connection with an investigating into, among other things, certain mutual fund transactions effected by several registered representatives, including Kuchel, at his member firm.” He was permanently barred from acting as a broker or otherwise associating with firms that sell securities to the public.

In 2015 a customer alleged Eric Kuchel, while employed at Crown Capital Securities, made unsuitable recommendations, acted negligently, committed fraud, breached his fiduciary duty, failed to supervise, and failed to conduct due diligence in connection to five non-traded private placements. The complaint settled for $50,000.
