Ricky Flatt: Ex-Royal Fund Adviser Under Investigation Over Loan Allegations

Ricky FlattPublicly available records published by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and accessed on April 29, 2019 indicate that former Michigan-based Royal Fund Management adviser Ricky Flatt, who has been named in an investigation by state regulatory authorities, recently resigned from his former employer and is currently not affiliated with any broker-dealer or advisory firm. According to his BrokerCheck report, he has received one regulatory sanction, was recently named in a regulatory investigation, and resigned from his former employer in connection to alleged rule violations.

In March 2019 he was “permitted to resign” from his position at Royal Fund Management in connection to allegations he violated internal policies and procedures, and failed to report an outside business activity and a loan from a client.

In March 2019 he was named in an investigation by the State of Michigan Department of Licensing in connection to allegations he took a loan from a client which he later defaulted on, and failed to disclose an outside business activity. The investigation remains pending.

In 2013 the State of Michigan sanctioned him in connection to allegations he was “insolvent based on the personal balance sheet that he completed and submitted.” He was issued heightened supervision and reporting requirements.
