William Jack Wheeler first entered the securities industry in 1998. From September 9, 2011 through October 15, 2013, he was associated with LPL Financial and operated under the d/b/a Oak Point Financial Group. William Wheeler is no longer registered with any FINRA members.
On December 20, 2013, William Jack Wheeler and FINRA entered into a letter of acceptance, waiver and consent, known as an AWC (No. 2013036021701). According to the AWC, on February 18, 2013, Mr. Wheeler visited the home of two of his customers to complete certain account paperwork. During the meeting, William Wheeler noticed that certain pages needed to be notarized and instructed his customers that he would take care of the notary stamp at a later date. Mr. Wheeler returned to his office with the signed paperwork and used a notary stamp that was left behind by his former sales assistant, who was not a notary. William Wheeler used the notary’s stamp, without her permission, and forged her signature on the paperwork. By forging the notary’s signature, Mr. Wheeler violated FINRA Rule 2010.
As a result of his conduct, William Wheeler was fined $5,000 and was suspended from associating any FINRA member firm for a period of six months. For more information on William Wheeler’s fine and suspension, please visit FINRA’s website.
